Jesús Flores and his wife, Rosa Bayona, met in 2010 and built a family together with their three children: Rosita Faustina, Xiomara, and Manuel Jesús.
During Rosa’s first pregnancy, she was expecting twin girls, but complications led to a premature birth at just six months and 15 days of gestation. The twins remained in incubators at the hospital, fighting for survival. Eventually, they were able to bring them home, but their joy was short-lived. At 15 months old, a severe viral fever struck both twins. Sadly, one of them did not survive, while Rosita Faustina pulled through, though she was left with neurological conditions that affected her speech and mobility.
With great effort and dedication, Jesús and Rosa have done everything possible to provide Rosita with the best care. Thanks to therapy, she was able to learn to walk, but she has not developed speech and has an intellectual disability.
Meanwhile, her sister Xiomara, who is currently in high school, helps at home by assisting in the care of Rosita and their younger brother, Manuel Jesús. Jesús Flores makes a living selling garbage bags at the market or taking on any available work, while Rosa dedicates herself entirely to caring for their children, as Rosita’s condition prevents her from working outside the home.
Their youngest son, Jesús, is a healthy three-month-old baby, and the family continues to move forward with love and sacrifice, facing each day with courage and hope.
